Donate to the Lebanon crisis
The current Israeli attacks are causing mass devastation in Lebanon, and UK for UNHCR is gravely concerned about the serious escalations. Your donations can help us to provide immediate relief and support to citizens and refugees who are being forced to flee, this includes:
Protection – vital legal aid, psychological support and child protection for those who desperately need it.
Cash assistance – your donations help those affected to buy vital relief items such as food, blankets, clothes and medicines. These are items that many of us take for granted, but those living through the crisis need them desperately to survive.
Shelter – with many civilians forced to leave their homes, UK for UNHCR has been coordinating with the South and Nabatiyeh Disaster Risk Management (DRM) / Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) to ensure there is a list of collective shelters across Lebanon for those affected to escape to. Additionally, your donations assist us in providing emergency shelter kits and help to repair damaged buildings, which will improve living conditions in informal settlements.
Educate yourself about the Lebanon emergency
What is happening in Lebanon right now? Since October 2023(prior to the latest escalation), ongoing clashes along the Blue Line across Lebanon’s southern border have displaced more than 102,000 people.
Now, with the latest devastating attacks, at least 100,000 more people have been forced from their homes with more than 600 killed and 1,835 injured, according to Lebanese authorities. Unfortunately these numbers are rising all the time
Prior to these latest events, UNHCR had already been responding to the humanitarian needs of the Lebanese people and refugees who have been displaced mainly from the South. As of July, UNHCR had provided more than 116,000 emergency relief items, assisted some 57,200 people with cash assistance, and supported collective shelters, as well access to safe shelter, healthcare, and psychosocial support.
UNHCR teams are supporting the response to the latest displacements from the South as well as in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Saida and Bekaa. Your support is absolutely crucial to our efforts and we kindly urge you to donate what you can.
