UK for UNHCR links up with Devon to showcase refugee support
This Refugee Week, UNHCR’s UK office and UK for UNHCR are teaming up with refugee support groups in Exeter and South Devon on Saturday 26 June.
Refugee Support Devon, a small charity based in the West Country city, is putting on the event. Talks, music, food and dance throughout the day reflect all aspects of the way generations of migrants have transformed Exeter and its surroundings into the multicultural community it is today.
A genuine UNHCR tent which would normally house a refugee family of five will be the centrepiece of proceedings. A photo exhibition inside the UNHCR tent will highlight one refugee family’s enthusiastic inclusion in the life of Ottery St Mary, a nearby town.
Where: Exeter Quayside
When: Sat 26th June, 10am-4pm
Who can come: anyone and everyone, just pop by!
