When is Refugee Week 2024?
This year, Refugee Week will take place between the 17th and 23rd June 2024, with World Refugee Day falling on the 20th June 2024.
The annual festival is celebrated across the UK and brings people together from all kinds of backgrounds. It inspires people to have a deeper knowledge and understanding of what refugees and displaced people go through. Refugee Week initiatives encourage people to share their experiences and reflect on a range of core beliefs and values.

When is Refugee Week 2024?
This year, Refugee Week will take place between the 17th and 23rd June 2024, with World Refugee Day falling on the 20th June 2024.

Every year, we take this opportunity to celebrate the contributions of refugees and displaced people across the globe. UK for UNHCR will be running a series of events during Refugee Week which you can learn more about below.
From virtual classes to speaker events, performances and screenings, we are passionate about sharing refugee stories and encouraging you to get involved whilst also helping refugees within your community to feel welcome.
This year, we’ll be celebrating with the humble cup of tea. From Afghanistan to Venezuela, Syria to South Sudan, many cultures share a long history of tea-drinking with their own, varied tea traditions. For Refugee Week 2024, UK for UNHCR will create spaces to bring together the nation’s love of a cosy cuppa and a chat, and the beautiful tea rituals that refugees have brought with them to the UK.
